Wildlife Warnings
Remember, you're not alone in the woods. Respect your wildlife neighbors!
  • Wildlife are wild! They may look tame, but they're not!
  • Never, ever, feed wild animals. Approaching and feeding wildlife causes them to lose their natural fear of people and they can become aggressive and dangerous. Never put people, especially children, in harm's way by posing them with wildlife.
  • Carry Bug Spray & Bear spray. Be Bear Smart, avoiding surprise encounters. Travel in groups when possible.
  • Wear full cut or mid-cut boots for greater support. Tennis shoes and urban athletic shoes are too flexible for roots and rocks.
  • Hat, sunglasses, and sun-blocker a must, fire starter and pocket knife a good idea too.
  • 1-2 litres of water for a day hike, fruit, nuts and a sandwich as well.
  • Jacket or vest for mountain chills and rain slick for sudden downpours.
  • If you must take your dog, keep it on a leash! Bears and Cougars like animal snacks.

If you need any hiking supplies, like clothing, boots, or snacks be sure to visit The Crossing Resort's General Store!
